Before you arrive

There is a useful page on the British Council website to help you prepare for coming to the UK to study English. It can be found here – link

Checklist

Make sure that you have done all of the following:

    • If necessary, apply for your VISA to study in the UK. See the Student Visas page of this site for advice.
    • Apply for student accommodation with Leeds Languages or find a room in private accommodation. There are links on the Accommodation page of this site to help you.
    • Plan your journey from the airport to your accommodation. Make sure you have told us if you require an airport pick-up from your homestay. There are always taxis outside Leeds Bradford Airport.
    • Gather official documents that you may need while you are here (e.g. school and medical certificates)
    • Take out travel insurance. We recommend Endsleigh – www.endsleigh.co.uk
